Man Overboard Recovery
Using a loop of rope
A conscious casualty can be lifted out of the water by standing on a rope looped over the side and attached at one end to a winch, which is used to raise the rope.
Using a sheet of material or netting.
A piece of netted material or a sail is stretched across the toe rail and the head is attached to a pulley arrangement supported from the main halyard. The casualty is rolled up the boat by manually pulling on the pulley or via a winch block; hoisting the halyard.
A single or double strop is used to lift the casualty out of the water with the boom or a halyard.
Using a ladder
Using a fixed or flexible ladder to recovery the casualty.
